Municipalities Must Lead the Way with Decriminalization
Municipalities in the eastern panhandle must take the lead on decriminalizing cannabis possession to no jail time and no fines or fees. There have been 30 municipalities that have enacted ordinances to decriminalize cannabis in their communities including Morgantown. Even the American Academy of Pediatrics supports the decriminalization of cannabis. This is a common sense measure to allow our often understaffed police force to focus on more serious and violent crimes.
