My name is Jeffrey A. Budkey, and like many of our fellow mountaineers, I am tired of the people being left behind here in West Virginia. I’m tired of the state government doing nothing to address the interests of every day people, and instead choosing to address the issues of the rich and powerful lobbyists.

Our friends and neighbors are hurting here in West Virginia. Growing up with a single mom, I’ve seen the struggle of putting food on the table, I seen her worrying about how to pay the bills, I’ve seen her wonder where next months rent was going to come from. I want every single person, no matter their background, to have a chance to thrive in West Virginia insead of struggling to make ends meet. I’m running for the House of Delegates because I believe that people have a right to food, a right to real opportunity, and the right to the best education in the country. Let me be absolutely clear, these are rights and not privileges, and our fellow West Virginians deserve so much better.

Empowering every single West Virginian to get involved and make a difference in their community will be the real change we so desperately need. This election isn’t about me, my opponents, or any politician, it’s about the people, ordinary folks who are capable of making more positive change than anyone else. Restoring our state starts with inspiring 1,000 leaders to lead change, not just one.
